National Advisory Groups

The National Clinical Leads and the Care Record Development Board (CRDB) established a clinical network to advise on issues of health informatics to support NHS Connecting for Health (NHS CFH) in delivering systems to improve patient safety. This network replaced the specialist clinical information groups previously supported by the NHS Information Authority.

The National Advisory Groups (NAGs) are populated by senior representatives of the Royal Colleges, clinical societies, Allied Health Professionals, nursing and midwifery professionals. The ongoing role of NAG providing multi-professional clinical advice on informatics delivery is currently under review. In the meantime professional communication channels will be maintained through NHS CFH and National Clinical Leads:

Nursing professional National Advisory Group – chaired by Susan Hamer
Health Professionals and Practitioner National Advisory Group – chaired by Yvonne Pettigrew
Medical National Advisory Group – chaired by Peter Short
