Second GP system approved for EPS Release 2 deployment
GP supplier InPractice has received full rollout approval for EPS Release 2 deployment of its Vision system. (Published: 22 September 2011)
InPractice Vision joins another GP system, EMIS Web, and five pharmacy systems (AAH Proscript Link, Cegedim Pharmacy Manager, Positive Solutions, RX Systems Proscipt and Lloyds CoMPaSS) in having full rollout approval.
The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) will see all GPs send electronic prescriptions to a dispenser of the patient's choice. EPS is already available in 18 GP surgeries, ten dispensing appliance contractors and over 1,600 community pharmacies across England, with the latest InPractice sites going live on the Isle of Wight.
So far more than 43,000 patient nominations have been set and over 265,000 prescription items sent electronically, bringing significant benefits for patients, prescribers and pharmacists.
The status of all the system suppliers and the latest deployment figures can be found in our EPS statistics area. The location of every GP surgery and community pharmacy together with its readiness for EPS Release 2 can be seen on the EPS deployment maps.
