Communications suite of guidance
A suite of guidance has been produced to assist you if you need to produce materials to communicate about NHS Connecting for Health and the National Programme for IT in the NHS.
- Visual Identity Guidelines (PDF, 1.4Mb) provide information about how to represent NHS Connecting for Health (NHS CFH) and the National Programme for IT (NPfIT) visually. They include information about how you should use the logo, icon, corporate colours, typography and photography on a range of communications materials. Standard text to describe NHS CFH and NPfIT is also provided.
- Editorial Style and Writing Guidelines (PDF, 97Kb) explain NHS Connecting for Health's house style (based on DH house style) including acronyms and abbreviations, bullet points and punctuation. The guidelines give you examples of plain English and tips on writing for the web or a printed publication.
- Informability Guidelines (PDF, 74Kb) (Accessibility and Translation) provide information so you can make decisions on producing communications materials in different formats, such as audio or easy read, and in languages other than English.

The logo and icons can be provided in both electronic and print versions.
If you have an N3 connection, you can download the logos from http://nww.connectingforhealth.nhs.uk/commsguides (N3 connection required). Alternatively email nhscfh.branding@nhs.net requesting the logo and detailing how you intend to use it.
