Accessing support
NHS CFH Deployment Support is centrally funded to support and complement existing local project teams. Resources are accessed via the strategic health authorities.
How to access our support?
The deployment of IT systems is the responsibility of strategic health authorities (SHAs) and their constituent organisations. The NHS CFH deployment support team provides second line support to NHS deployment projects at the request of SHAs.
There are two routes to access our services depending on the type of deployment you are working on:
- if you are deploying local service provider applications that are part of SHA Detail Implementation Plans then see how a request is turned into support
- if you are encountering technical difficulties while deploying existing systems or the national programmes then see how we can support
Accessing support for SHA implementation plan deployments
SHAs can make requests to the deployment support team either by using the dedicated telephone line or email. To email your request, download and complete our work order form (Word 73Kb). Our contact details are then - telephone: 0113 3974090 and email: cfh.dst@nhs.net.
Following this request a member of the team will carry out an assessment jointly with the local organisation and SHA to identify requirements and agree the work package(s) to be provided.
The support package will then be put in place at no charge to the NHS. Continuous evaluation of the resources provided will be undertaken to make sure that the NHS is gaining maximum benefit and effectiveness from our support.

Accessing Existing Systems deployment support
Local NHS project teams can make requests for support and advice on managing a 'First of type' deployment and the NHS Connecting for Health deployment process directly by emailing the ESP implementation team at: ESPimplementation@nhs.net.
For technical support on technical issues experienced during deployment contact the deployment issue resolution team using the dedicated deployment issue resolution telephone support line, 0113 3973401 or emailing the deployment issue resolution mailbox: cfh.dir@nhs.net.
