Implementation Toolkit

PCTs play a crucial role in implementing EPS Release 2 and this toolkit will support them in doing that. Over time these documents will be revised to reflect the changing NHS environment and will target those responsible for delivering the service. In the interim, updates to these documents will be made in light of feedback received from FOT and initial implementer sites. Please be aware these documents were produced prior to the changes to the NHS structure.

Feedback is welcomed and can be sent directly to the EPS team at cfh.eps@nhs.net.

This toolkit provides:

  • information and documentation that can be used as a basis to develop specific, locally tailored policies and processes to support EPS Release 2 implementation, and;
  • signposts to other useful information.

Prescribing and dispensing sites can also use information contained within this toolkit to inform local business processes and policies.

Who is the toolkit for?

The primary audience of the toolkit are Project Managers and SHA and PCT staff involved in the implementation of the service.

The toolkit may also be useful for:

  • prescribers and their staff
  • dispensers and their staff
  • SHA and PCT EPS leads
  • prescribing and dispensing system suppliers.
