Release 2 initial implementations

There are 17 initial implementer PCTs who are all listed in The Primary Medical Services (Electronic Prescription Service Authorisation) Directions 2008. The first pairing commenced in July 2009 in Leeds.

The purpose of initial implementation (which follows the technical assurance process) is to ensure that the systems, business processes and training materials are fit for purpose prior to further deployment.
