QMAS closure – important information on GP payments
QMAS will make payments for the QOF 2012/13 for GP practices. However, QMAS is going to be replaced by a new service called the Calculating Quality Reporting Service (CQRS).
CQRS will be in place to calculate payments for GP practices across England from the 2013/14 financial year. The data to support payments for QOF 2013/14 will be extracted by the new General Practice Extraction Service (GPES). For further information about both of these new services, including the training that will be needed by colleagues in GP practices and other organisations, please visit both the CQRS web pages and the GPES web pages (www.ic.nhs.uk/gpes).
What training will be available?
Training is being provided for both CQRS and GPES.
GP practices will need to use CQRS for QOF and other payments for the 2013/2014 financial year.
One CQRS training place will be available per GP practice for this training and it is imperative that an individual from each GP practice participates in the training. If you work in a PCT or SHA and are transitioning into a CCG or Local Area Team, and you may either be a user of CQRS or involved in commissioning services from GP practices, then training will be available but places will be limited.
Bookings are now being taken for CQRS Training Phase 1 via the following link: https://nww.cqrs.nhs.uk/training/.
More information on how to book onto a training session can be found here: http://www.connectingforhealth.nhs.uk/systemsandservices/cqrs/training/bookings
What GPES training will be available?
Training for GPES will be made available online from the end of February 2013 by the Health and Social Care Information Centre and can be accessed by general practice teams as required. Your GP system supplier will also provide support and guidance to ensure that you do not have any problems in submitting your QOF data via GPES for 2013/14.
Further information on GPES can be found at (www.ic.nhs.uk/gpes).
