ETD Practitioner Development

Education, Training and Development (ETD) has an important role to play in successfully implementing clinical and IT systems and services deployed across the NHS.

In order to support the development of ETD professionals, a National Reference Group was set up and has representatives from the Department of Health–Informatics and colleagues from the ETD community across the service.

ETD practitioner toolkit

Practioner

This group has developed a toolkit of resources and guidance to support trainers and managers in planning their career progression and professional development within the NHS.

The toolkit can be used to assess skills and experience against the job profiles and Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF) outlines agreed with an NHS expert reference group.

It also provides information about courses and qualifications relevant to NHS trainers and managers, as well as many other useful resources.

The following sections give information relevant to your job role and the supporting resources.
