A training strategy is a high level document which summarises the long term vision for the training service and summarises its overall approach to training. It describes the actions required to achieve this vision and the long-term success of the training service in an organisation.

The strategy is developed in the early stages of the training lifecycle to ensure that the right levels of analysis, design, delivery and assessment are identified to support the training.
