When planning any training activity, the skills, qualifications and knowledge that trainers need to deliver effective training, should be identified and any gaps addressed in advance. This includes ensuring that seconded training staff have the right training skills required for training end users.

This standard aims to ensure that trainers have the opportunity to undertake continuous professional development and that their performance is assesses on an on-going basis.
