ETD Standard 6 - Evaluation and Assessment
Evaluation and assessments are two of the main building blocks of the training strategy. They are iterative processes that should be carried out during the whole training lifecycle, not just when a training course has been completed.
Likewise, the results of all evaluation and assessment activities should be gathered on an ongoing basis and used to improve the delivery of the training that is already underway, as well as future training activities.
Evaluation and assessment results should be fed back into the training lifecycle and detailed in the training plan. Feedback may take a variable approach, such as consulting previous evaluation and assessment reports to determine their impact on current training.
This standard and the supporting guidance will help you identify how and when to evaluate and assess the training, materials, end users and trainers, so that the training can be improved and refined at any stage of the training.
