What is ESOBA?

The ETD Standards Online Benchmarking Application (ESOBA) enables Informatics Training Services to self assess and benchmark their service using the ETD Standards.

Once a training service has identified which requirements they meet using ESOBA, this web-based application will then calculate which level of the ETD Standards the service has achieved.

Evidence can also be uploaded to support the self assessment.

What are the benefits of using ESOBA?

ESOBA is an easy way of measuring an informatics training service's effectiveness.

  • You can establish an initial benchmark for your training service against which progress can be measured.
  • Action plans are developed as you work through the process, which helps you identify where you can improve your training service and work towards meeting more of the requirements.
  • Completing the self assessment is the first step towards Training Service Accreditation (TSA).
  • Evidence can be easily uploaded to support your assessment.
  • Secure application, designed to run over the NHS network (N3 connection required).
