NHS ELITE
How should I use NHS ELITE?
NHS ELITE is designed to be used in a variety of ways to suit both the centres using it and the learners accessing it. Depending upon how it is being used in your local centre, you will have access to some or all of the following:
A diagnostic assessment
This will test learners existing IT skills and identify any gaps.
Learning materials
These interactive tutorials will help learners to improve their IT skills.
Certificated post learning assessment
This is used to assess a learners skill against the entire NHS ELITE syllabus. Successful completion of the post learning assessment will allow learners to print a personalised certificate recognising that they have passed the NHS ELITE or NHS ELITE+ course (NHS ELITE+ includes the optional Word Processing and Working Safely sections).
How do I access NHS ELITE – the NHS IT skills tracking system
To offer NHS ELITE, your organisation must be set up as an EITS centre.
NHS ELITE is delivered through the online NHS IT skills tracking system which gives EITS centre managers and trainers access to an array of information about the learners registered at their centre.
This includes; registration and completion data, individual learner progress summaries and evaluation reports and statistics.
The tracking system also provides overall usage statistics for NHS ELITE to the DH, allowing us to better demonstrate the value of the project.
Formal accreditation of NHS ELITE
Centres can purchase formal testing and accreditation for NHS ELITE through the British Computer Society, The Chartered Institute for IT (BCS). BCS contact details can be found on the contacts and feedback page.
For information about BCS involvement in EITS please visit our History of EITS page.
