NHS encryption tool

NHS Connecting for Health has completed the national procurement of an encryption solution for removable media and full disk encryption on behalf of the NHS.

The selected product, McAfee Endpoint Encryption, is provided by Trustmarque Solutions. The product is an enterprise class solution which integrates with existing software deployment tools and can be deployed in both standalone and organisation-wide scenarios.

On this site you can find out how to request the NHS encryption tool, arrange training for your team and gain access to support and updates.

McAfee are upgrading Endpoint Encryption in order to provide a complete single management console for all McAfee products. For more information on the upgrade plans for Endpoint Encryption please access the document McAfee Endpoint Encryption Upgrade Announcement for the NHS (PDF, 228Kb).

McAfee and NHS Connecting for Health have developed a best practices guide for the Trusts and Health Informatics Services to implement Endpoint Encryption. The model is not intended to be a step-by-step implementation guide but does provide reference for the procurement of additional consultancy services to assist with the various aspects of deployment, as required.

This guide can be accessed here: Providing Secure Encryption Technology to the NHS (PDF, 292Kb).

More information on Endpoint Encryption can be found at the McAfee website.
