NHS Connecting for Health works closely with each Strategic Health Authority (SHA) to support and facilitate the implementation of Summary Care Records.   This support includes the provision of expertise in SCR implementation as well as advice and guidance on implementation processes and shared best practice between NHS organisations.

Each SHA has appointed a lead for SCR implementation that is responsible for coordinating implementation across each SHA and to act as an escalation point for issues relating to implementation. The SHA leads have an SHA forum which meets monthly and includes representatives from the SCR Programme Team.  This forum provides the opportunity for lessons to be shared and progress to be jointly reported.  SHA Forum Terms of Reference (PDF, 66Kb).
